CE Grievance Policy
Buckingham Consulting Group is committed to ensuring that complaints and grievances regarding continuing education are handled with the upmost respect for all customers. BCG complies with all legal regulatory standards and ethical responsibilities and strives to address grievances in a constructive and fair manner.
This policy outlines our processes and guidelines for filling a formal complaint regarding CE activities to include, but not limited to delivery format, presentation content, instructor mannerism and expertise level, facility accommodations and webinar topics.Social Workers can raise a grievance for various reasons to include, but not limited to:
- they felt that they were mistreated during the CE activity
- they felt the content was not professionally delivered
- they felt BCG did not comply with regulatory standards
General Grievance Process and Guidelines
- BCG’s Continuing Education Director and Social Work Consultant, Dr. Dwayne Buckingham will acknowledge receipt of all complaints sent to firstname.lastname@example.org within 10 business days and respond to all complaints within 20 days via email.
- Dr. Buckingham will investigate informal complaints to get as much information as possible and work diligently to mediate the situation by offering a reasonable and customer-centered solution within 30 days. If Dr. Buckingham is unsuccessful in addressing the informal complaint, he will consult with Dr. Indira Harris, MSW, LCSW, License #SW7536 within 2 weeks to mediate complaints brought on by social workers that escalate to formal grievances.
- Dr. Indira Harris will consult with Dr. Buckingham as a mediator regarding recommendations and formulation of a formal response. All communication among Dr. Buckingham and Dr. Harris will be documented for record keeping purposes and the participant who filed the grievance will be notified of the final determination within 4 months.
Grievance Process regarding Course Content Complaints
A grievance concerning course content will be addressed by offering an alternative course option. If this option is not a viable solution, a full refund will be offered to the compliant and CE credit will be revoked to prevent inaccurate record keeping.Grievance Process regarding Refund Requests
BCG will honor all refund request by complainants if the request is submitted prior to distribution of CE credits. If a participant decides to receive CE credit, he or she must waive the right to a refund. Please note that forfeiture of a refund does not eliminate the complainant’s right to submit a grievance. All grievances will be forward to the CE Director for immediate investigation and action.Grievance Process regarding Appeals
If the complainant requests that his or her compliant be reviewed a second time, he or she must resubmit their concerns within 5 business days of receiving the final determination. If the request is received by the CE Director within the required timeframe, the grievance process will repeat, and the case will be closed after a satisfactory response is received by the complainant.
